Dangerous game....!

Hope the head teacher of our school did not sollicit or encourage this. Hope too these children are not from our school!

But, as you can appreciate, children are jumping from a bridge, about 10m, into river Rusizi.

This river is the second biggest in Rwanda, after Nyabarongo, which is said to be the origine of River Nile (Burundi and Uganda also claim they host the source of Nile...!).

Rusizi connects Lake Kivu to Lake Tanganyika, and its flow is actually very fast...! As you can probably make out from the video, waters were quite shallow hence the real risk to landing on a rock!

There is no 999 service, or rescue boat or life jackets!
