Although not part of RSVP's core mandate, "Education today for Zero Aid tomorrow", RSVP has had to listen to her partners' concerns in order to maintain their optimum cooperation.
The Church hosting the primary school does, as previously explained, face serious spiritual challenges associated with the lack of the in-depth Bible teaching.
Before linking this Church to local and/or international preachers known to handle the Word of God accurately, it has been necessary to first set up a local framework designed to sustain the legacy of a visiting minister.
Such a framework will address the known setbacks of preaching visits, namely lack of lasting impact and follow ups.
To this end, during her last project trip, one of the RSVP's Volunteer held talks with the minister of the Church hosting the primary school together with a Bible teacher based in Kigali.
Lately, further telephone consultations have also attracted the blessing and participation of the director of one of Rwanda's most established Bible colleges.
The Tripartite meeting made of the Church minister, Bible teacher based in Kigali and director of Gisenyi's Bible college will take place on May 7, 2008.
They will set a date (expected to be late in the Summer 2008) for the inauguration of the Book to Book Bible Teaching and other courses designed to equip Church leaders and Christian to know the God of the Bible better and serve Him more effectively.
Visiting preachers will reinforce this local capacity both in courses list and content and use this framework to shape and monitor their visit outcomes.
The above project will not cost RSVP a penny but yet listening and responding to her partners concerns will reap tremendous rewards as far as their compliance and co-operation go.
"(...) my people are simply trapped and locked far away from the Truth and their ignorance is definitely not by choice"
If you are in Aberdeen and would wish to know a bit more about this project, please speak to Mr Andrew Tulloch from High Hilton Church.
Local stakeholders have accepted to work as volunteers, but small imperative costs due to travelling and preparing and printing syllabuses will be met by UK volunteers.
