Olivier Nsengiyunva- which means "I pray = Nsenga"; (to) "Him who listens = Iyunva"- is a 17 year old boy who appears to have lost 4 years in his education progress!
Following the death of his father in 1995 and mother in 1999, Olivier and his 3 brothers aged 13, 7 and 4 were taken to his paternal grand mother.
Olivier passed the national test against the odds with 42.7% and was sent to Bugarama Secondary School.
Olivier does come across as an innocent child who has simply been a victim of so many adversities that are clearly not of his own making.
Our Volunteer visited Olivier at his Boarding school to encourage him. Like other sponsored children, he will be seen by our Rwandan Team every school holiday for further support.
Unfortunately, due to events locally known as "Ingengabitekerezo ya Genocide" or Genocide ideology reported at Olivier's school, the first term ended earlier than planned.
So, there has been no exam scripts and we do thus not know his first term performance.
We pray and wish him every blessing. Every blessing too to the loving people who are sponsoring him.
NB: The above is part of the complete profile held by his sponsors.
