A vacancy has arisen within our UK Team for an enthusiastic and friendly individual.

The post holder will serve as RSVP Treasurer to oversee the following jobs:

Maintain RSVP's transparency policy by updating our password protected monthly bank statements. Full training will be provided;

Acknowledge donations electronically and/or by post;

Assign narrative codes to every new donor and send electronic or postal Thank You letters which bear such codes. The Treasurer will liaise with RSVP Coordinator so that Thank You Letters sent out also include username and password needed to access RSVP bank statements;

Organize monthly bank transfers to our Rwandan Bank Account;

Deal with correspondence pertinent to financial matters;

Deal with bank statements, payment of goods and liaise with nominated External auditors/Chartered accountants to get the annual accounts prepared and audited;

Take part in drafting the charity's strategic plan and financial forecasts;

If a trustee, the Treasurer will also take part in policy drafting and discussion by email or through the Trustees Forum. The post holder will also be ready to take part in the charity's fundraising efforts as well as promoting RSVP ethos in UK and abroad.

Like all RSVP officials and trustees, this person will serve as a volunteer. So, the interested individuals are encouraged to read and accept our Voluntary Policy.

The reality of the Voluntary Policy is that serving with RSVP involves a very significant monetary cost. But, like the pain of childbirth, this is of course completely obliterated by the joys of channelling more money into our target school and village.
