November 2007 Newsletter: Fundraising.

Harvest gift from High Church, Hilton:

As part of their harvest thanksgiving, the faithful in this congregation have shared their blessings with people in need.

RSVP is another charity that has been chosen to take half of this Church's loving donation to the poor. This is a very sizeable gift.

In line with her vision -"education today EQUALS zero aid tomorrow"- RSVP will invest this money into school books, School meals and HIV prevention programs in Mihabula Primary School, Bugarama, Rwanda.

Dublin Marathon:

Ruth, a third year medical student at the University of Aberdeen, has raised very good amount of money for RSVP by running the above marathon in 3 hours 50 minutes.

Handmade Christmas Cards:

The dexterity of RSVP's treasurer has generated some money too. Cards were sold to some RSVP's Friends, University of Aberdeen students, part of the Grampian NHS laboratory and Denburn Health Centre staffs.

If this is something you feel you could also be part of, i.e. making cards, selling cards etc.. either for Easter and/or Christmas 2008, please contact RSVP.

Coffee Mornings fundraising:

RSVP has been picked by some staffs working for Aberdeen University Medical school who raise money for charities during coffee breaks. RSVP has learned that a cheque is on the way.

New long term donations:

November 2008 has been a month of tremendous encouragements: first, RSVP has had 2 new donors; second, one regular donation has been double matched- from £20 to £60 through Charity Aid Foundation; and third, one donor has doubled her kind donation from £20 to £40.

So, the total raised this month is over £3,200! Many thanks to donors and all who have been involved in fundraising activities.

As shown on this chart (please click to view), YES the jurney is still long as far as January 2008 projects are concerned, but we look forward to another month of blessings this December 2007.

If there is ever any cause for godly pride, it will not be how much or how fast RSVP can mobilize funds but rather how much this charity does actually spend on the ground.
