Anaclet Ndayizeye, which means I trust in Him - "Him" standing for God, is 18 years old and has clearly lost 5 years in his educational pathway.
Anaclet's mother died of HIV/AIDS early 2000; he does not know his father and has lived with his uncle since birth.
His uncle has 15 children - 11 boys and 4 girls. They all share the same mother!
Due to poverty and his family circumstances, Anaclet did not like school and abandoned it since aged 7. He changed schools three times.
Luckily, when he reached the Mihabura Primary School, his uncle encouraged him to stay in school and managed to reach the final year and pass the national test with 43%.
Our Volunteer visited Anaclet at school to encourage him. Like other sponsored children, he will be seen by our Rwandan Team every school holiday for further support.
Anaclet comes across as an innocent child who has simply been a victim of so many adversities that are clearly not of his own making.
Through this sponsorship, it is hoped that Anaclet will use this rare secondary school opportunity to grow up into someone who will be able to take care of himself and his 2 younger siblings.
His first term results show he has competed very well with other children who passed the National Test from various primary schools.
NB: The above is part of the complete profile held by his sponsors.
We pray and wish him every blessing. Every blessing too to the loving family which is sponsoring him.
