Photo annotation- market
This photograph shows typical market area of Injanga "small fish", which are fished from Lake Tanganyika.
The bucket contains the stock to sell, and people chose the seller from the quality and quantity of Injanga as they see them on the big plate (Isiniya). Not reproducible amounts, so not measured by a scale. The floor is just dust (soil).
This photograph shows, on your right, sweet potatoes and, on your left, cassava.
The first lady with a blue bucket or bowl is selling cassava flour. Again, things are not weighed. For cassava flour, there is a measuring plate (isahani).
As for the final photograph, except for the first woman on your right (with kids), others are selling palm oil.
The houses in the background are shops that usually frank the market area. Restaurants and "pubs" are also located nearby. What do you think these kids are doing there?
