Who is Who?
The following roles, presented in no particular order, are consistent with the Charity's Voluntary Policy:
A. UNITED KINGDOM TEAM:
- Chairperson: Chairs trustees meetings- a new Chair can be appointed to serve for a year or each meeting.
- Project Coordinator:
- Drafts policies that are specific to the Aims and Objectives of the Charity;
- Explains the prevailing realities on the ground so as to invite policy drafts from UK Volunteers, RSVP friends as well as personal friends;
- Holds consultations via telephone and emails with UK and Rwanda teams;
- Translate all documents and communications between Rwanda and UK teams;
- Follows up the implementation of projects on ground with progress reported to UK team;
- Uses trustworthy contacts in Rwanda to recruit more volunteers as the project grows;
- Uses trustworthy contacts in Rwanda to Recruit people with special expertise such as lawyers, accountants, nurses, doctors etc... so that they can carry out, on a voluntary basis, tasks that are beyond the ability of the serving volunteers.
- He is also the Assistant Project Coordinator: Replies to general enquiries; Updates and maintains RSVP blogs; and Communicate to Friends of RSVP about progress and vision. Top.
- Secretary:
- Takes part in policy drafting and discussions; - - Keeps the records of agreed policies and key documents;
- Assistant Secretary:
- - Takes part in policy drafting and discussions;
- - Records minutes of each meeting;
- - Organizes the agenda for trustees meetings;
- - She is also the Treasurer and: Deals with bank statements, Annual accounts and budgets, receipts, money transfers, payment of goods; Maintains the transparency policy by updating the State of Account blog monthly; Deals with correspondences pertinent to financial matters. Top.
- Fundraising/Publicity Coordination: Filled up by all the 3 above.
- Legal Advisor: Vacant position. This person will ensure the Charity subscribes to OSCR requirements as well as other UK and international legal obligations.
- Church Coordinator: Vacant Position. This dedicated person will be the first point of contact for Churches having a loving interest in the work of the charity.
- Reports/Returns Officer: Vacant Position. This enthusiastic person will compile Annual Reports and deal with Annual Returns from OSCR.
- Charity Link Officer: Vacant Position. This person will actively identify likeminded charities and will promote the exchange of information and advice. Top.
B. RWANDAN TEAM: Please see photo annotation here
Project Coordinator: Oversees the team; is the main point of contact; and consults with UK team on all matters of charity policies so that workable agreements can be reached by both teams.
Church Advisor: The Pastor of the Church which owns the primary school takes part in the consultation process and is involved in the monitoring process.
School Advisor: The Head teacher takes part in the consultation and monitoring process.
Parents Advisor: The elected president of the Parents' School Committee takes part in consultation process.
